We've got our first track!
After some patient listening to multiple (very good) test tracks, we've settled on a mastering outfit (Lurssen Mastering out of Burbank, CA). That means, if you can believe it, we have a completely finished track to share.
Check out "Afire," the first track of Invisible Light, while we wait for the rest of the songs! (It's at the link below or the bottom of this page.)

The recording session for strings and brass is in the books!
It was a really successful day. Things ran smoothly, and the players played beautifully. Ben and I are really excited to get back into his studio to finish the album.
We recorded at Huge Sound in Salt Lake City. Ted Hinckley, Director of Music Technology at Snow College, very generously lined up the best players in the city and helped run the session. He has decades of experience with this kind of recording, and his help was indispensable.
We did brass in the morning and strings in the afternoon. Chad's arrangements were polished, and the sound we got from the room was really rich.
There were so many people that helped to make it a success, including countless Kickstarter donors. It wouldn't have happened without your support.
Now I just need to make sure I don't screw up the vocals.

The Kickstarter is over and funded! Thanks to everyone who pledged support. I am so very fortunate to have such generous family, friends, and fans. Everyone involved with the project is grateful for your interest and help. Now all that's left is the work!
P.S. If you missed supporting the Kickstarter campaign but would still like to help, send me an email (it's on the contact page). We could still use the help, and I'll make sure you get a copy of the album as a thank-you.
